The Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board (Los Angeles Tourism) extends its heartfelt congratulations to the Los Angeles Dodgers for their thrilling victory in the 2024 World Series. This remarkable achievement underscores the city’s reputation as a top-tier sports and entertainment destination, celebrating LA’s vibrant spirit, talent, and resilience.

The Dodgers’ remarkable postseason victory follows a record-breaking 2024 season, drawing fans from across the globe. Notably, players like Shohei Ohtani and Yoshinobu Yamamoto sparked a wave of international attention, particularly from Japan, which is expected to become LA’s fifth-largest overseas visitor market with an estimated 320,000 visitors in 2024. Japanese fans flocked to Los Angeles, drawn by the Dodgers’ legendary lineup and the city’s vibrant baseball culture.

Major League Baseball (MLB) has announced that its 2025 season opener will feature the Dodgers and the Chicago Cubs in the Tokyo Series on March 18 and 19. With both teams showcasing Japanese talent, this sixth MLB season opener in Tokyo is set to celebrate baseball’s global appeal and strengthen the bond between LA and Japanese fans.

As America’s second-largest gateway city, Los Angeles continues to shine as a destination where champions come to play.
